PSO Mission Statement

The purpose of the PSO shall be to encourage cooperation, understanding and communication between the parents/guardians, the students and the faculty and staff of Divine Child High School; to promote parent/guardian education; and to sponsor various activities to support the ideals and purposes of Catholic education. All parents/guardians of students attending Divine Child High School are automatically members of the PSO.

A Short Description of PSO Activities

Frosh Slosh with Parents
Incoming freshmen get to have pizza and pop, play games, and have a dance to help break the ice. Freshman parents also have a get-together, featuring a barbecue sponsored by the Men's Club, with desserts provided by the PSO. Frosh parents are welcome to attend the Men's Club meeting held that evening, or to continue mingling and meeting other freshman parents.

Senior with Parent Night
Seniors and their parents are required to attend this meeting.

Back-to-School Night
Parents get a chance to experience a day in the life of their student(s), and meet their student's teachers. Make sure to bring a copy of your student's schedule!

PSO Family Mass
This is an opportunity for the DCHS to come together and worship as one. After Mass, coffee and doughnuts are served in the high school cafeteria. The student directory will also be available at that time.

Frosh with Parent Night
Freshmen and their parents are required to attend this meeting.

Sophomore with Parent Night
Sophomores and their parents are required to attend this meeting.

Open House
This is a day when prospective students can tour DCHS.

Advent Remembrance Mass
This is an opportunity for DCHS students and family members who are grieving over the loss of a loved one in the past year to come together with the entire DCHS community for comfort, fellowship, and worship. A luncheon is served afterwards for the bereft.

Semester Exams Refreshment Sale
The PSO provides juice, water, bagels and doughnuts for a .50¢ charge in the mornings during first and second semester exams.

Senior Coffee House
This is an opportunity for seniors and their parents to get together for an evening of entertainment, refreshment and fellowship. It is sponsored by the junior class. All proceeds go towards funding of the Junior/Senior Prom.

Financial Aid Night
This is an evening for seniors and parents to obtain information on college financial aid.

Junior with Parent Night
Juniors and their parents are required to attend this meeting.

Msgr. Weier Scholarship Recital
This is an opportunity for seniors to showcase their artistic talents for the DCHS community. Proceeds fund the Msgr. Weier Scholarship Fund, which endows graduating seniors in financial need.

Frosh Orientation
This is an informational evening set aside for next year's incoming freshmen and their parents.

Prom Lock-in
This is an after prom event for prom attendees chaperoned by sophomore class parents, designed to let them continue having fun the rest of the night in a safe environment.

Senior Lock-in
This is an all-night party for the graduated seniors sponsored and chaperoned by the senior class parents.

Used Uniform Sales
DCHS parents/guardians are able to resell gently used uniforms. Please refer to the spring newsletter for further details.
