Dear Alumni,
On September 4, 1958 Divine Child High School opened its doors to 84 eager students. Since then, we have been blessed with an abundance of growth. Not only with the increase of students each year, but with our technology and many additions to our facilities. Divine Child, year after year, strives to be the best.
With our campus improvements complete, it is time for us to focus on the most significant portion of our school, our teachers. The teachers who dedicate themselves day in and day out making Divine Child the institution it has been for over fifty years. The teachers who demanded the best from you and now our children, preparing them for the road that lies ahead, both academically and spiritually. It is important to remember that without our teachers, you would have not experienced the Divine Child education which is so well known.
Recruiting and maintaining a quality faculty is the greatest challenge we endure. Most are aware; Catholic School teachers wages are significantly less than public schools. As of now, we reward our teachers with Christmas and end of year bonuses. However, this is not sufficient for us to stay competitive.
Our future goal remains, that one day we are able to provide a more competitive salary for our teachers. However, we must first focus on the present and begin supplementing their salaries now. Our goal is to raise $600,000 from you, our alumni. Never before have we focused solely on alumni for a capital campaign. This is a first and we are confident that you will participate and help us reach our goal.
We have set-up a teacher endowment fund to help us with this mission. Once our goal is complete, we will be able to compensate our teachers for their constant support, service and dedication that they give to Divine Child.
Accordingly, we are asking you to prayerfully consider a minimum gift to the campaign of $100 this year (a daily commitment of less than $0.28 cents) and a like amount over the next four years. The total amount of your pledge would be $500. Your gift will help Divine Child continue its tradition for the next fifty years in developing youths who pursue lives in responsibility, leadership, and faith in action. Please give this request your most sacrificial consideration and let this gift be a true reflection of your gratitude to our Divine Child teachers who have so lovingly and freely given to you.
You, as alumni, hold the future for Divine Child Schools.
Sincerely,
|
