If you are an 8th grader and want to apply for the 2018-2019 school year, you would follow this process:
Step #1: Register for the High School Placement Test (HSPT)
The High School Placement Test is required for all 8th graders applying to a Catholic high school. The test fee is $40. Our test dates are:
- Saturday, November 18 from 8 – 11:45 a.m.
- Saturday, December 2 from 8 – 11:45 a.m.
- Online registration for this test is available through Thursday, November 30.
Partial academic scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen who score exceptionally well on the November 18 or December 2 High School Placement Test and have excellent grades.
NOTE: Divine Child requires that students take the science section of the HSPT. Not all test sites administer this section. In addition to Divine Child, these test sites will administer the science section: Cabrini, Gabriel Richard (Riverview), Ladywood, and St. Catherine of Siena.
Step #2: Apply for Admission
If Divine Child is the only Catholic high school where you are applying, click on the red link below, and you will be taken to an InfoSnap site. Once you enter your email and establish a password, you can begin the application process. Be sure to press “submit” once you are finished, and DC will receive your responses electronically.
If you are applying to two Catholic high schools, click on the red link below and you will be taken to a SchoolAdmin site. Once you enter your email and establish a password, you can begin the application process. Be sure to submit your responses when finished, and your responses will be received by DC and your other Catholic high school choice.
NOTE: Both online applications require student and parent completion. It is best to complete an application when you are both available to do so.
Step #3: Obtain Transcripts and a Recommendation Form
The form is available below. Parents should sign this form and deliver it to your child’s school. The school will forward transcripts and the recommendation form directly to our Admissions Office.
Step #4: Student Interview
Once we receive the Application for Admission, the students and parent(s) will meet with our Director of Admissions and/or one of our administrators. Interviews are usually held after school in December and January.
Students who test in November or December are mailed their admission decision letter on Friday, January 26. Academic scholarship announcements will also be mailed on January 26.
Students of all faiths are welcome to apply. If we have more applicants than available spaces, we give preference to Catholic students for openings. Students who are offered accepted for admission complete a registration form and pay a registration fee by Thursday, February 22.
