The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is required for all 8th graders planning to attend a Catholic High School in the Archdiocese of Detroit.
2016-2017 High School Placement Test (HSPT) Dates
The HSPT will be administered throughout the area on these dates:
- Saturday, November 19 from 8 – 11:45 a.m. at Divine Child High School.
- Saturday, December 3 from 8 – 11:45 a.m. at Divine Child High School.
- Saturday, February 4 from 8 – 11:45 a.m.
- Saturday, March 4 from 8 – 11:45 a.m. at Divine Child High School.
Click here to register for the March 4 High School Placement Test. The deadline to register for the HSPT is Thursday, March 2.
Students must list Divine Child as one of their two choices to be considered for admission. Partial academic scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen who score exceptionally well on the November 19 or December 3 High School Placement Tests and have excellent grades. While students who take the February 4 or March 4 HSPT are not eligible for academic scholarships, these students can still be considered for the Archdiocese of Detroit need-based tuition assistance grants.
Please note the High School Placement Test scores are just one factor considered as part of our admissions process. Strong consideration is given to 7th and 8th grade performance both academically and behaviorally, and each principal and/or 8th grade teacher is contacted personally by our Admissions Office. What the applicant says about him/herself on the Application for Admission is also helpful information.
The HSPT scores are used to help place students in the appropriate class level to provide academic challenge and growth. Further honors placement testing will be offered in the Spring.
